To be recognised on a national level is really important for us, it’s important in terms of marketing and it’s important in terms of morale.

The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, now in its 15th year, celebrates those organisations’ achieving the best return on investment in their people and recognises employee strategy that best attracts, retains and develops talent.

Howard Kennedy is one of the UK’s leading law firms, acting for entrepreneurial businesses, their owners and advisers.

The judging panel in giving Luminus Group the award said: “Luminus aims to lead renewal in society through excellence as a provider of homes, a community anchor and an inspirational employer. It is an outstanding example of how people can be fundamentally and enthusiastically engaged in achieving strategic goals and delivering corporate values.

“The development in the social enterprise of a dedicated, caring, collaborative and ‘can do` culture, supported by a deep investment in employees, has been central to how human and other resources have been continually optimised.”

Felicity Bell from Luminus Group said: “To be recognised on a national level is really important for us, it’s important in terms of marketing and it’s important in terms of morale.”

Jane Amphlett, Partner and Head of Employment at Howard Kennedy adds: “Luminus Group is a truly inspiring organisation and a well-deserving winner. It works in a challenging sector that is demanding in the work and emotionally. The way its management team leads is inspiring.

“The social housing sector faces significant and far-reaching change. Nigel Finney and his team recognise this and together with the organisation’s 250 staff are exploring new initiatives and business models that continue to put people at the heart of the future."
