Howard Kennedy appoints Senior Partner to lead Construction practice

Law firm Howard Kennedy has strengthened its Construction team with the appointment of James Stewart. He joined on 2 May as a Partner and head of the firm’s Construction practice.

James was previously a Partner at Howard Kennedy, leaving in 2008 to join London law firm Laytons, where he was its Head of Construction and, since April 2015, its Chief Executive Partner.

He brings to the firm a long and respected track record advising on both contentious and non-contentious construction law matters. His clients include some of London and the South East’s most active residential developers, together with contractors, consultants and funders.

Commenting on his appointment, James said:

Partner, Head of Construction, James Stewart
I am delighted to be returning to Howard Kennedy after almost nine years. The firm has changed almost beyond all recognition and now has one of the largest real estate teams in the City. I am looking forward to developing the firm’s Construction practice further and contributing to the wider Real Estate team.
